Saturday night, 2 April 2005 [8:45 p.m.]:

Keith. Well, today has maybe been the worst so far. I feel physically ill and I have cried so much. I don’t have any idea of how to get over you.

Yesterday I saw the most exquisite thing and you have to remember it was within 20 km (12.5 miles) of the centre of Sydney city. While I was over at the new house I happened to look up at some birds – two smaller birds were trying to chase away a larger bird as they do. The larger bird was some sort of raptor – a falcon or a hawk - and he was beautiful. He flew quite high in lazy spirals watching the ground for prey. He almost never flapped his wings; the wind just bore him up. The sun filtered through his wings and, although he was very high, I could see the beautiful brownish pink glow of the sun shining through his wings. At one point, he saw something of interest on the ground and he sort of tumbled and fell and beat his wings and rose up and fell again and did this over and over as he stared at some point on the ground. Some branches got in the way and when I walked out from under them (it only took a couple of seconds) he was completely gone. Of course, he made me think of you. Everything in nature seems to make me think of you. Oh, let’s not fool ourselves – everything makes me think of you.

Well, I’m feeling a lot better than I did an hour ago. So here’s a couple of hugs in case hugs aren’t on the menu in Heaven: , , . As you said: “We’ll get together when we can.”….
