Saturday night, 2 April 2005 [10:15 p.m.]:
Had another tear session and a talk with Wozza about it – poor kid, he feels helpless like I do. And I got to thinking – why is it not OK for me to have any contact with your family and you used to really enjoy asking after Warwick and talking with him? It’s our different styles, I guess. Is it you that wants it that way or them?
Anyway, something made me think of this excerpt from Robert Frost’s “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”:
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
I do have Promises to keep, don’t I? The Promises I made to you that turned out to be gifts you gave to me. Oh, honey.
